Gov. McCrory Appoints Shaw U President Dubroy to Internship Council

Dr. Dubroy Swearing in Ceremony

September 18, 2015 – Dr. Tashni Dubroy begins her service on the North Carolina Internship Council following her appointment by Gov. Pat McCrory. The NC Internship Council oversees the State Government Internship Program. As a member of the council, Dr. Dubroy's duties include determining which state projects require interns, how many interns should be assigned to a given project, and reviewing and selecting interns.

"I'm excited to be in a position to help students while serving my home state," said Dubroy, adding, "As an educator, I understand the need for students to gain experience in their field in order to be competitive when applying for permanent employment, enhance their educational experiences and help them to make career decisions."

Dr. Dubroy is an entrepreneur, business owner, chemist and college administrator whose varied experience will be a valuable asset in analyzing a variety of state projects requiring interns.

"Internships provide value to businesses by funneling a captive audience from which they can recruit talent. I am thrilled to be able to work with Governor McCrory to help North Carolina's leadership make decisions that impact students and ultimately our workforce," Dubroy said.
